Here's another hymn that warms my soul:
->Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of God's unchanging love!
->Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I'm come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
->O to grace how great a debor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for They courts above.
Let that grace now, like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to thee... What a great thought....that God's grace causes us to be bound to God in an unbreakable way...that our freedom as people of the way doesn't mean we're free to do whatever the heck we want, but that we are bound to the righteousness and love of God...that we are free to be the people God intended us to be...freed from sin so that we may be bound to God. I like it.

I love the last verse. It reminds me that even when I wander from God, that God's love and grace will save me and bring me back to where I belong. This is one of my favorite hymns too. I love the tune also. It really pounds hard at the end and gets you fired up to wander back to God.
alllan i dont really have anything to say about the ole song, but i just wanted to say what up and that i got some sweeeet pics of us from montreat... so that's about it... g'luck with the ordination and new youth group and what not
Alan. You're away from CTS two months and you're already wearing some fruit booty green feather costume. Didn't anyone tell you that Christian ministry is about being a soldier for Jesus Christ? It's spiritual warfare out there, man. You need to ditch that feather and put on the whole armor of God. Paul talks about the sword of the Spirit...not the feather of faith. Geez.
